Future-Proofing
Freedom lives in the details you never see.
One visit. One report.
This service is for homeowners who want to future-proof the home they already live in.
A La Vie specialist visits your home, assesses your environment with expert eyes, and produces a bespoke written report. What can be adapted, what has limitations, and exactly what will give you the greatest return on your comfort and independence.
Future-proofing your home is one of the most powerful choices you can make. It keeps you in control; of where you live, how you live, and for how long. It removes the pressure of making rushed decisions at a difficult moment. Every recommendation is tailored to you, your home, and your life; considered advice around controlled risk so you can move forward with clarity and confidence, on your timeline and within your budget.
Where works are required, La Vie refers to a trusted network of affiliated architects to execute the design.
Why La Vie?
Gisele's understanding of this work is not only architectural. Her grandmother Sandra — born without an eye, partially paralysed following five brain tumour surgeries, and profoundly alive — refused every modification that reminded her of what her body could not do. What she needed was a home that adapted to her, quietly and without announcement; one that held her changing needs without ever making her feel less than herself.
Designing that home became Gisele's life's work. A Master of Architecture at the University of Melbourne. A decade of practice. A PhD in ageing-in-place architecture currently in development. Every report Gisele writes carries that understanding; not just what a home can do, but what it should never have to say.

“Amazing architectural design. Gisele has thought through how to design a house for a young family all the way through to your needs when you are old and infirm and want to live there as long as possible. Truly inspiring person and architect.”
