Last updated 19 October 2026
1. About this policy and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how La Vie collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal information when you visit www.la-vie.com.au, register your interest, subscribe to our newsletter or otherwise deal with us.
La Vie is operated by Gisele Emma Benkemoun, a sole trader, ABN 53 267 910 080 (referred to in this policy as “La Vie”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Where the Privacy Act does not strictly apply to us, we choose to follow these principles voluntarily as good practice.
By using our website or giving us your personal information, you agree to it being handled as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not provide your personal information to us.
If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at contact@la-vie.com.au.
2. What personal information we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The types we may collect include:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email address, phone number, postal address |
| Location preferences | Suburb or postcode where you would like to live, current suburb |
| Housing preferences | Apartment size, budget range, timing, accessibility needs, lifestyle interests |
| Communication preferences | Whether you have opted in to our newsletter, unsubscribe requests, email opens and link clicks |
| Correspondence | Anything you tell us in emails, enquiries, surveys or feedback |
| Website and device data | IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time spent, referring website, approximate location, cookie and pixel identifiers |
| Transaction information | If you later reserve or purchase an apartment: identity, financial and contract details needed to complete the sale |
Sensitive information. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health information). If you choose to tell us about health or mobility needs so we can design suitable apartments, we will only use it for that purpose and with your consent.
Dealing with us anonymously. You can browse our website without telling us who you are. However, we need at least an email address and preferred location to register your interest and contact you.
Children. Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information in these ways:
- Directly from you, when you fill in our register-your-interest form, subscribe to our newsletter, email us, complete a survey, attend an information session or speak with us.
- Automatically, when you visit our website, through cookies, pixels and similar technologies (explained below).
- From third parties, such as advertising platforms (for example, when you respond to one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram), real estate agents, or people you have asked to refer you to us. Where we collect information about you from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
Cookies, analytics and advertising pixels
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Pixels are small pieces of code that tell a service when a page has been viewed or an action taken. We use:
- Essential cookies so the website works properly, for example remembering that you closed our pop-up.
- Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are popular and how people found us. Google may process this data in the United States. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram), to measure how our ads perform, show our ads to people who have visited our website, and reach people similar to our visitors. You can change your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
- Other analytics or advertising tools we may add from time to time (for example, Google Ads or LinkedIn Insight Tag) for the same purposes.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the website may not work as intended.
4. Why we collect and use it
We collect, hold and use your personal information to:
- Record your interest and understand where people want La Vie communities built.
- Contact you about a La Vie development planned or underway in your chosen area.
- Send you our newsletter and news, if you have opted in.
- Answer your questions and provide information you request.
- Plan, design and assess the viability of developments, including sharing combined (non-identifying) demand figures with partners.
- Arrange inspections, reservations, sales and settlements if you decide to buy.
- Improve our website, services and advertising.
- Show you relevant ads on other platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Google.
- Protect our website and business against fraud, misuse and security threats.
- Meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations, and resolve disputes.
We will not use your personal information for a purpose unrelated to these unless you consent, or we are required or authorised by law.
5. Emails, consent and unsubscribing
We send two separate types of email, and you choose which you receive:
| Email type | What it covers | How you agree |
|---|---|---|
| Development updates | News about a La Vie development planned or underway in the area you chose | By registering your interest |
| Newsletter and news | General La Vie news, events, offers and updates | By ticking the optional newsletter box |
Unsubscribing. Every marketing email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter only and keep receiving updates about your chosen area, or unsubscribe from all emails. You can also email contact@la-vie.com.au. We will action your request within 5 working days.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop us sending you messages we are required to send, such as information about a purchase contract you have entered into.
Records. We keep a record of when and how you gave consent, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Email activity. Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked. We use this to improve our emails and understand interest in each area.
7. Information stored overseas
Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. Countries where your information is likely to be held include:
| Provider | Purpose | Likely locations |
|---|---|---|
| Resend | Email delivery | United States |
| Google (Gmail, Workspace, Analytics) | Email, storage, website analytics | United States and other countries where Google operates |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Advertising and ad measurement | United States and other countries where Meta operates |
| Vercel | Website hosting | United States and global data centres |
These providers may use servers in other countries from time to time. We take reasonable steps to choose reputable providers with appropriate security. By giving us your information, you consent to it being disclosed overseas as described here. Overseas recipients may not be subject to the same privacy laws as Australia.
8. Storage, security and how long we keep it
We store personal information electronically using secure, password-protected cloud services with two-factor authentication. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data breaches. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
How long we keep it. We keep your information only as long as needed:
- Register-of-interest details: until you ask us to delete them, or until there is no reasonable prospect of a development in your chosen area.
- Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only your email and unsubscribe record so we do not contact you again.
- Purchase and contract records: for at least 7 years, or as required by law.
When no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify your information.
9. Your rights, complaints and changes
Access and correction. You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing contact@la-vie.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, unless the law says we cannot.
Automated decisions. We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you that could significantly affect your rights or interests. If this changes, we will update this policy to explain how.
Complaints. If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please email contact@la-vie.com.au with details. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website, with the date it was last updated. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website or emailed to you.
